 The questions start now into the enigma surrounding Jaycee Lee Dugard. First and foremost we need to have addressed the question of how Phillip Craig Garrido, 58, and Nancy Garrido, 55, remained undiscovered for 18 years? The requirement for vigilance by all of us, as neighbors, and the authorities, seems to be more critical now than ever it has been.

 My wife just said to me that at least we can find out who is a registered sex offender and where they are living in our neighborhood .  There are too many of these people in our society who could otherwise hide themselves and hide their background from us. We have a right to know who they are, where they live, what they do.  Now the Probation Department and Police Department will both do a lot of introspection as to why their visits to Garrido’s residence never resulted in the children’s discovery. It’s incredible that visits by probation officers and the Police never resulted in a search of the residence and grounds. Astounding.
